IMPALED Drop Off MORTICIAN Tour

August 1, 2005

Oakland, California's IMPALED have officially dropped off the upcoming tour with MORTICIAN "due to unprofessional booking practices." A statement on the matter from bassist Ross Sewage reads as folllows:

"Boo... did I say tour? I think I spoke too soon. Basically, the booker has put off giving us tour dates for about two months now. There has been zero mention of this tour other than on our own website. After many broken promises to give us a semi-finished list of dates, or at least addresses of clubs so we could promote a few of the shows, the band took a democratic vote, and we told the booker we're not doing the tour.

"So, today there has been released a partial list of tour dates, even though we were told we could not release a partial list of tour dates previous to today.

"Basically, we're being made to look like assholes so that we'll be forced to lose thousands of dollars on a tour that was never properly booked, and in fact, is still not completely booked.

"This last summer, we were made to look like assholes when we were booked on the MALEVOLENT CREATION tour that we did not agree to do in the first place. Last winter, we were made to look like assholes when we were added to MORTICIAN shows in L.A. and the Pacific Northwest that we did not agree to. That's not to say we're NOT assholes. We are. But people seem to be of the opinion they can fuck these assholes. That's just simply not the case. People might tend to scoff at us and ask us what the hell do we expect. All we expect is a modicum of professionalism."
