HOWL Signs To RELAPSE RECORDS

May 29, 2009

Relapse Records has announced the signing of Providence, Rhode Island's HOWL.

HOWL (Vincent Hausman - guitars, vocals; Andrea Black – guitar; Robert Icaza – bass; Timmy St. Amour - drums) formed in 2006 and has already toured extensively with many like-minded bands such as KYLESA, TORCHE, YOUNG WIDOWS, COLISEUM and more.

HOWL's Hausman commented on the signing: "We're very excited to be signed to Relapse. Right from the start, we've gotten the sense that the folks at Relapse care about the bands and their creative vision first, which is important in an industry too often concerned purely with profit, image, and commercial viability. Relapse also has an impressive roster of former and current bands, many of which we grew up listening to. It's humbling to now be part of that family."

Relapse will first issue HOWL's debut, self-titled EP this summer as the band continues writing for its first full-length. The EP will feature brand new artwork that can be previewed below.

Hausman also commented on the reissue and forthcoming material: "We're very happy about the tremendous response we got from the demo, and we're excited it will see a proper release. In the meantime, we've been writing new material for our upcoming full-length and if you liked what you heard on the demo, you'll love what you'll hear on the album! The new stuff is darker, more developed, and everything is more extreme. Expect faces to melt."

HOWL is confirmed to perform at the official BrooklynVegan-BBG showcase on June 14 in Brooklyn, New York as part of the inaugural Northside Festival. They'll play alongside DOOMRIDERS, ZOROASTER, SOURVEIN, CLOUDS, and more.
