HORTUS ANIMAE Finish Mixing New Album

HORTUS ANIMAE, the extreme metal project of ANCIENT drummer Diego "GroM" Meraviglia, have finished mixing their new album, "The Blow of Furious Winds", at Italy's Alpha-Omega Studios with producer Alex Azzali (ANCIENT). The CD will be released on February 5, 2005 via Black Lotus Records in a limited-edition leather bookshape format containing an extra track not featured on the regular edition. The bonus tracks for the limited edition will be a cover version of QUEEN's "Fairy Feller Masterstroke / Nevermore" and DEAD CAN DANCE's "Summoning of The Muse", featuring Liv Kristine (LEAVES' EYES, ex-THEATRE OF TRAGEDY) on lead vocals. The regular edition will only have the DEAD CAN DANCE cover. A "making of" video track will also be included.

According to an official press release, "The Blow of Furious Winds" "shows an extremely hightened maturity in the songwriting and performance of the band, forging an album that contains almost every kind of musical expression known to metal and beyond metal, truly expressing HORTUS ANIMAE's contemporary character of 'the musical encyclopedia.' it will be a very innovative and diverse album."
