HELYEAH, OTEP, BLOODSIMPLE: Amarillo Concert Cancelled

November 20, 2007

According to a posting on OTEP's MySpace page, tonight's (November 20) HELLYEAH / OTEP / BLOODSIMPLE concert at Midnight Rodeo in Amarillo, Texas has been cancelled.

OTEP writes: "Tonight's show cancellation had nothing to do with OTEP. The show was cancelled due to an injury within HELLYEAH. We offered to play, but the promoter turned it down. We offer our deepest apologies as we were looking forward to tearing it up in Amarillo tonight."

HELLYEAH's live DVD, "Below the Belt", was released on November 13. The disc contains footage going back to the formation of the band, including the group's first recording session, the making of its self-titled debut album and various stops on the group's ongoing world tour, as well as personal interviews and other features. The two-hour DVD also includes videos, backstage clips, footage from the band's April record release party and a look inside Chasin' Jason, the studio once owned by late PANTERA guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott where HELLYEAH recorded.

OTEP's new album, "The_Ascension", sold 10,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 81 on The Billboard 200 chart.

Produced by Dave Fortman (MUDVAYNE, EVANESCENCE),"The_Ascension" sees the band challenging itself to avoid clichés and classifications and finding a new landscape of sound and vision. "We said 'genre limits and music fads be damned, let's write music that is important to us and that motivates us," explained Shamaya. "I wanted to write songs we believe in and let nothing stop us from building the album we want to make."
