HELSTAR's Rivera Reflects On The FLOTSAM Experience!

December 25, 2001

HELSTAR frontman James Rivera has posted the following message on the official FLOTSAM AND JETSAM message board regarding his recent stint as F&J's stand-in singer on the band's short-lived US tour (following the departure of Eric A.K. earlier in the year): Well now that I'm actually back at home in Houston, I can say that I do miss my new home away from home. My new family of 4 killer musicians that live in Phoenix. Well, actually one now [lives] in Vegas. The Flotsmen. From the bottom of my heart, I really enjoyed this episode of my life playing with F&J and only hope it will continue. Through the ups and downs we had on this tour, I was glad to be a part of it. The last few shows especially in Phoenix made it well worth it. It was there that all ex-Flotmen showed up to give their support. Even [former METALLICA/FLOTSAM bassist] Jason Newsted was there. I got to get Eric A.K. up for a song as well. One hell of a singer I got to learn from and one hell of a down-to-earth and great guy! Many thanks to you guys and especially the fans for your support. As far as the remaing Flotsmen, what ever you decide to do I'm there for you! During the plane ride home with a bit of sadness I got to think about each of you and the memories you have given me.
