HELLYEAH Guitarist To Take Part In Online Chat Today

August 31, 2007

HELLYEAH guitarist Tom Maxwell will take part in an online chat at Meebo today (Friday, August 31) from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. PST. Fans will be able to chat with Tom about this year's Family Values tour and the band's plans for the future. Meebo will also be giving away a free pair of tickets and backstage passes to one lucky fan for the last date on the Family Values tour, September 2 in Irvine, California.

If you would like to participate in the chat, you can join the room at this location.

HELLYEAH recently posted the video for "Alcohaulin'Ass", the second single from the group's self-titled debut album. Singer Chad Gray told The Pulse of Radio that the song came about one night when he and guitarist Greg Tribbett were working in the studio once co-owned by late PANTERA guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott. "I've heard a lot of Dime's four-track stuff," he said. "He wrote a lot of ditty kind of songs and I think that that was kind of one of his offerings to this, 'cause we always kind of felt like we had an angel on our shoulder, especially being in his space, and it was just me and Greg, you know, that were in there that night, and I really kind of feel some Dime inspiration — that kind of tongue-in-cheek kind of, it's humorous, you know, kind of thing. But it just works, man. It's a rad song. We love it."

The video for the song is mostly made up of live footage from the band's recent tours of the U.S., the U.K., Australia and New Zealand.

In addition to MUDVAYNE members Gray and Tribbett, HELLYEAH features Dimebag Darrell's brother and former PANTERA drummer Vinnie Paul, NOTHINGFACE guitarist Tom Maxwell and DAMAGEPLAN bassist Bob "Zilla" Kakaha.
