HEADSTRONG Confirm Split With Label

October 10, 2002

As first reported here in early August, Canada's HEADSTRONG have now officially confirmed their split with RCA Records a mere six months following the release of their self-titled debut through the label.

"Unfortunately due to circumstances too numerous to cite in this forum, our contract with RCA Records has been terminated," the group stated in a posting on their official web site. "So now we rejoin the ranks of the great unsigned.

"Essentially what this means to [the fans] is that for the next few months it's going to be very hard for us to get out on the road and play for [everyone]. Although we promise we'll do our very best to maintain our fan base, and hopefully we'll be back soon. It's especially frustrating after having spent the summer touring around north America with great bands like FU MANCHU, INJECTED, SOIL, SKINLAB, FLYING TIGERS and TOMMY LEE and meeting so many great music fans like you everywhere we went...

"The good news? well...we haven't given up. We're basically holed up in a practice space in Toronto and are working on six new songs that we'll be recording in London, Ontario with our man Dan Brodbeck. We'll use these songs to see if we can't secure ourselves another deal with a label that gots some love for HEADSTRONG."
