HANKER Calls It Quits

March 27, 2011

Quebec, Canada-based metallers HANKER have released the following statement:

"After a career spanning 26 years, HANKER announce today their retirement from the scene. It was more and more difficult for them to carry on with jobs and other daily obligations. However, their legacy is here to stay: five great CDs and one EP (which ALL received many praise reviews from diverse media) and countless gigs throughout these years. One of the highlight is their appearance in Germany as one of the headliners at the Headbangers Open Air festival in July 2004.

"HANKER went out on a high note with their latest album, 'Conspiracy Of Mass Extinction', released in 2010 via Hellion Records in Germany, which received many great reviews.

"The band members would like to sincerely thank all their fans that have been exceptionally loyal throughout all these years and all the metal media that have supported them in this great ride."

The artwork for "Conspiracy Of Mass Extinction" was once again created by David Faucher, who was also responsible for the artwork on the band's previous album, "Web Of Faith".

"Web of Faith" was released in August 2004 via Skycraper Music. The CD was recorded at Victor and JFD studios.
