HAMMERFALL Guitarist Comments On DIMEBAG Murder

December 14, 2004

HAMMERFALL guitarist Oscar Dronjak has posted the following message on the group's web site:

"First off, I just want to express my astonishment and outrage for the actions of one (apparent) mental patient in Ohio. I realize that the split up of bands can be hard to stomach for the most vehement fan, but this is unbelievable, ridiculous, out-of-this-world! The decision to continue to play together or go separate ways is the choice of the bandmembers and them alone, as is the direction they take their music. No one else has anything whatsoever to do with it! Just respect that fact and whatever decision the people involved make. Either you like what they do and listen to it or you don't. End of story.

"PANTERA or DAMAGEPLAN was never among my favourite bands and I mever met any of the members involved, but this is absolutely insane. It is a sad, sad, time for heavy music, the incident makes it harder and harder to believe that metal unites us all. Our condoleances goes out to the victims and their families in this time of hardship."
