HAMMERFALL, DRAGONLAND, DREAMLAND Members To Resurrect METAL MONARCHS For Live Shows

December 17, 2012

METAL MONARCHS, the Gothenburg, Sweden-based all-star heavy metal tribute band featuring members of HAMMERFALL, DESTINY, DREAMLAND and DRAGONLAND, will reunite to play a number of shows during 2013.

METAL MONARCHS has been on hiatus for a couple of years, mainly due to HAMMERFALL's hectic schedule, since appearing at the fabulous all-metal Christmas show "Hells Jingle Bells" along with Joacim Cans (HAMMERFALL) and others.

"Now it's time to take the classic metal to the masses again," says the band.

Expect brilliant performances of your favorites by JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN, PRETTY MAIDS, HELLOWEEN, DIO, MANOWAR and also some lesser-known songs that deserve recognition.

METAL MONARCHS 2013:

Jonas Heidgert (DRAGONLAND, DESTINY) - Vocals
Oscar Dronjak (HAMMERFALL) - Guitar
Eric Rauti (DREAMLAND, TORCH) - Guitar
Mats Rendlert (DREAMLAND, SANDALINAS) - Bass
Jesse Lindskog (DRAGONLAND) - Drums

METAL MONARCHS was formed in the fall of 2003 by Dronjak and Rendlert, with Lindskog and Rauti joining shortly thereafter. Dan Cardesjö (THE BREEDING) was enlisted on vocals, and this five-some performed numerous times together throughout 2004. Dan was replaced by Heidgert in the beginning of 2006, expanding the number of songs the guys could execute extensively with his wide vocal range.

The object was — and still very much is — to play songs they love from their favourite bands, trying to come as close to the original as possible. That includes the little nuances in tone in guitar solos, drum fills, the wailing on the vocals etc. Being the die-hard heavy metal fans they are, having enjoyed listening to the songs thousands of times collectively, this is very important. And that is where the tribute aspect comes in. The name METAL MONARCHS is a play off MANOWAR's "Kings Of Metal", but instead of referring to themselves, it's the songs being performed that the moniker is aimed at.
