HALFORD To Begin Work On New LP In The Summer

February 12, 2003

HALFORD will compete all current touring commitments in June and are tentatively set to begin writing material for their third studio album in July or August, according to the latest online posting from HALFORD manager John Baxter.

"It's important for me to explain a few things," Baxter began in his post to the forum section of www.robhalford.com. "The HALFORD Organization is one big family. We enjoy many laughs, good times, etc., and we struggle w. the same issues all bands struggle with.

"For example, the HALFORD band did mutually part ways w. [guitarist] Pat [Lachman] in Nov. 2001. But we approached our differences like most would, and Pat & the band chose to give it one more try. You all know the rest.

"[HALFORD bassist] Ray [Riendeau] and I have had a very good friendship dating back to '96. My loyalty to him while he deals w. his personal matters is constantly in the forefront of my mind. And I don't doubt many of you would do and feel the same way — if you were in my shoes.

"[HALFORD producer/fill-in guitarist] Roy Z. has been a rock for us — both in and out of the studio. His willingness to jump in to keep our touring commitments shows his loyalty to each of us and you, and further displays how close we all are. By simply stepping in, Roy has given us time to look for the right person to join our family.

"Having spent the better part of a week talking & visiting w. [new HALFORD guitarist] Chad [Tarrington], it has been simple for me to see the band and he are a perfect fit. Which means you all will love his work ethic and personality.

"If necessary, HALFORD will bring a new bassist into the family, but truth be told, we'd prefer to work every angle in order to keep Ray.

"We are touring through June and commencing writing for the 3rd HALFORD studio release in July or August 2003. So those of you living our Rock-n-Roll story need not get down w. the goings on. We are simply taking our time w. every difficult decision we are presented with.

"Now if you all can stay focused on our touring schedule, you'll probably find it's a lot more exciting than getting stressed out over something neither you or us have control over.

"Please feel free to make comment, and please recognize we are all extremely grateful to have you as our friends and supporters. Trust that we are going to continue to work hard to please you through our shows, recordings and personal visits."
