HALFORD Part Ways With Bassist, Announce Replacement

April 6, 2003

HALFORD have officially parted ways with bassist Ray Riendeau and have replaced him with former LIZZY BORDEN four-stringer Mike Davis.

Davis, 38, was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and had reportedly played in OZZY OSBOURNE's band for a week until he "got booted due to politics and other miscellaneous issues." Mike had also spent time playing with DOGMA, the former band of ex-OZZY guitarist Joe Holmes.

Says HALFORD manager John Baxter, "Ray Riendeau — just after the NY shows — informed us that the pressures that exist with his personal affairs are too great right now for him to commit to the forthcoming HALFORD tour. So I'm pleased to announce that bassist Mike Davis (JOE HOLMES, OZZY, LIZZY BORDEN) has joined HALFORD for The Metal Gods Tour.

"Once the band & Mike have had chance to work with each other for a significant period of time, discussions of joining the band permanently will take place.

"Mike fits the emotional and musical requirements the band requires, so we're sure you'll enjoy his company and heavy playing.

"Mike makes his debut in Chicago on the opening night [April 25] of The Metal Gods Tour."

Riendeau was absent from HALFORD's most recent West Coast dates due to "prior commitments" and was temporarily replaced by FLOTSAM AND JETSAM bassist Jason Ward.
