GUNS N' ROSES Pop-Up Store Launched In New York City

July 22, 2016

Luxury menswear designer John Varvatos and Bravado, the merchandising arm of Universal Music, launched a GUNS N' ROSES pop-up shop inside the walls of the John Varvatos store at 315 Bowery (which, of course, is the former location of the legendary club CBGB).

The pop-up store opened on July 22 at 12 noon ET and will close July 24 at 6 p.m. ET, coinciding with the band's two area shows at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey (July 23-24).

Among the items being sold are six one-of-a-kind painted leather jackets ($950),limited-edition numbered bombers ($425) and two exclusive John Varvatos designed concert tees ($78),alongside the band's official tour merchandise, featuring a range of tees ($40-$65) and jackets ($500),plus jean-vests ($250) and trucker hats ($25).

John Varvatos told Billboard.com: "I'm a huge fan of GN'R, and we are excited to welcome our friends from the band to NYC. I know there are a lot of GUNS fans out there and hope they come out to celebrate with us. Working this collaboration with Bravado has been inspiring."

GN'R has a musical connection to the room. The classic lineup of GUNS N ROSES — singer Axl Rose, guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan, guitarist Izzy Stradlin and drummer Steven Adler — played CBGB in 1987. A later version of the band, with Rose as the sole remaining original member, performed at the Varvatos store in 2010.

A sneak peek at the GUNS N ROSES pop-up store is available at Billboard.com.
