GUANO APES Cancel U.K. Tour

May 16, 2003

Germany's GUANO APES have been forced to cancel their U.K. tour after frontwoman Sandra Nasic was taken ill during the band's tour opener in Sheffield.

The following is the group's official statement on the matter:

"Hi folks, on this tour, bad luck seems to follow. First we had to put off the dates for our last month's gigs in Holland because Sandra had a bad flu she now fell ill again.

"During our first tour gig in Sheffield/UK, Sandra had an omphalocele. She could finish the show but afterwards had to get to the hospital immediately. The next day she had to fly back to Germany for further examination.

"That's why we had to cancel the upcoming gigs in the UK. We're not yet sure, if we can play these shows later and the Holland gigs are still in 'Stand-By'-Mode.

"As soon as we have more information concerning Sandra's health, we'll inform you on our website. Infos about our next shows are soon to come."

GUANO APES' latest album, "Walking On A Thin Line", entered the German Media Control charts at position #1. The band's previous CD, "Don't Give Me Names", achieved the same feat three years ago. The band have yet to secure a U.S. release for the new album.
