GORGOROTH's Controversial Gig In Poland Ranked As One Of Top 50 'Most Metal Moments'

June 5, 2004

Norwegian black metallers GORGOROTH's controversial gig in Krakow, Poland has been ranked as the 45th "most metal moment" on VH1. Follow this link to check it out at VH1's web site.

GORGOROTH drew international attention in early February after they were accused of "offending religious feelings" during a concert in Krakow. The band were also suspected of breaching the Polish law on protection of animals by displaying the severed and impaled heads of sheep as part of their stage act.

Last month, GORGOROTH singer Gaahl was sentenced to 18 months in a Norwegian prison on charges that he beat a 41-year-old man two years ago in what the victim called a ritual attack.

VH1's "100 Most Metal Moments" is a special show focusing on the "entertaining (and sometimes shocking) moments" that defined heavy metal music's heyday. View the complete list at this location.
