GORGOROTH: Half Of Next Album Recorded In Pre-Production Form

April 1, 2010

Norwegian black metallers GORGOROTH have issued the following update:

"Infernus [guitar] has just returned from rehearsals in Tomas Asklund's [drums] Monolith Studio outside of Stockholm, and the work on the follow-up album to 'Quantos Possunt ad Satanitatem Trahunt' is progressing as planned.

"Half the new album (which is still untitled) has been recorded in pre-production form, and work on the album will continue through the year in between touring and festival appearances, with a tentative 2011 release date.

"The upcoming European tour is GORGOROTH's first European tour since 2005 and the first tour to feature Pest (vocals) since 1997, and the band is looking forward to getting back on the road again after this long absence.

"Infernus has also made the decision to exclusively use EVH amps from now on, and is pleased to announce that an endorsement deal has been made."

GORGOROTH's latest album, "Quantos Possunt ad Satanitatem Trahunt", is now finally available on vinyl, in two different versions! The regular vinyl edition, which includes a poster, is released by Regain Records, whereas the picture disc version is released by Forces of Satan Records. Both versions are strictly limited pressings.

The regular vinyl edition should be available from all major retailers. As for the picture disc, information on how to get hold of this will be posted in due time at this location. It will also be made available at the merchandise booths at GORGOROTH's upcoming European tour, which starts on April 9.

"Quantos Possunt ad Satanitatem Trahunt", the Norway-based black metallers' ninth album, was released on October 21, 2009 in Europe via Regain Records. The CD, which was made available in the U.S. on November 11, was recorded at Tomas Asklund's Monolith Studio and features Infernus on guitar, OBITUARY's Frank Watkins (a.k.a. Bøddel) on bass, Pest on vocals and Tomas Asklund on drums.

"Quantos Possunt ad Satanitatem Trahunt" was produced by Infernus and co-produced/engineered by Tomas Asklund. It was mastered at the Cutting Room in Stockholm.

Since Infernus wrote all the music for the album and extensive rehearsals and a pre-production recording had also been completed before second guitarist Tormentor rejoined the band in 2008, it was decided that it would be more convenient for Infernus to record all the guitars on the LP.
