GODSMACK Frontman Excited About VAN HALEN's Reunion With DAVID LEE ROTH

August 16, 2007

The Pulse of Radio (formerly Launch Radio Networks) reports: One person who's excited about VAN HALEN's reunion with original singer David Lee Roth is GODSMACK frontman Sully Erna, who's been waiting for this moment for years. "To me, that's VAN HALEN. I just never liked the Sammy Hagar stuff, I'll admit it. I just was never a big, huge fan of him. But Roth, man, I always thought that was the sound of VAN HALEN and I thought they were stupid for not trying to put this together for a reunion tour."

In other news, photos of former VAN HALEN bassist Michael Anthony were restored to the band's official web site on Wednesday (August 15),just a couple of days after they had apparently been either removed or replaced by an image of guitarist Eddie Van Halen's son Wolfgang, who will play bass on the band's upcoming tour. Anthony's photo had been replaced on the cover art of the band's 1978 debut by a shot of Wolfgang, while the group shot from the cover of 1980's "Women and Children First", which also featured Anthony, had been removed entirely. Both are now back to normal.

VAN HALEN announced the details of its long-awaited reunion tour with David Lee Roth on Monday (August 13) in Los Angeles. The tour kicks off on September 27 in Charlotte, North Carolina and tickets go on sale this Saturday (August 18).

VAN HALEN plans to launch its "full" web site in September. It remains to be seen whether Anthony or later vocalist Hagar will be featured anywhere on the site.
