GODSMACK Drummer Is Open To Doing Acoustic Tour

April 20, 2004

Despite the commercial success of their recently released acoustic EP, "The Other Side" (the CD has sold 207,000 copies in the United States so far, according to Nielsen SoundScan),GODSMACK drummer Shannon Larkin told Billboard.com that fans shouldn't expect an unplugged set during any of the band's upcoming headlining shows or their opening dates for METALLICA.

"The way we look at it is like, if this acoustic record sells a lot and there is a demand for us to play acoustically, then we'll do a small theater tour of just an 'Evening with Acoustic Godsmack,'" says Larkin. "And we'll make it well advertised that we're coming through acoustically. But just as a rule, know when you are going to see GODSMACK, it is going to be a heavy-ass show and we're going to be playing all of the rock hits. We're not going to be sitting down on stools."

According to Larkin, GODSMACK will spend much of the summer writing their fourth album before returning to the road on METALLICA's fall U.S. tour. Shannon told Billboard.comGODSMACK hope to record the new album in January, with a tentative street date of April or May of 2005.
