GOD'S ARMY/MYSTIC PROPHECY DVD Shoot To Be 'Redone' In January

December 28, 2005

GOD'S ARMY drummer Mark Cross (FIREWIND, ex-HELLOWEEN, METALIUM) has posted the following message on his official web site:

"As you know the [joint MYSTIC PROPHECY/GOD'S ARMY performance] at the Matrix on December 17 was quite successful and we had our first in concert DVD shooting!

"Unfortunately, the sound engineer who was responsible for the audio recordings that evening managed not to record a single note!! How's that?

"We all decided to re-do the event because there is no point in cheating on the fans by recreating the sound in a recording studio trying to synchronize the visual frames.

"Everyone is welcome back on January 7, 2006 to the Matrix in Bochum, Germany [showtime is 7:00 p.m.]!! We hope to see you all again….. the entrance is free for everyone!

"For those who did sign up for the first gig on the Rock Hard page, please send an e-mail to [email protected]."

In addition to Cross, the GOD'S ARMY lineup features bassist/vocalist John A.B.C. Smith (GALLOWS POLE, HALLOWED, AT VANCE),and guitarists Ian O'Sullivan (HALLOWED) and Don Amiro. The band recently entered the studio in Germany to begin recording their debut album, tentatively due in early 2006. The group describe their music as "a powerful mixture of British-style heavy metal with more up-to-date beats and riffs thrown in to beef up the overall sound. . . The band focuses on catchy melodies, strong riffs and a pounding rhythm section with the intention of steering away from typical European power metal and keep their arrangements simple, more traditional, and more to the point!" Regarding the group's name, GOD'S ARMY write in a press release, "There is no religious concept behind the music, rather the songs are about everything and everybody and what ever affects humanity as a whole. This message is summed up in the title track: 'God's Army'."
