GOD FORBID, EXHORDER Members Interviewed On 'Metal Rules! Radio'

GOD FORBID guitarist Doc Coyle and EXHORDER frontman Kyle Thomas were interviewed on the latest edition of Metal Rules! Radio. You can now listen to the program using the audio player below.

Metal Rules! Radio (formerly Metal Rules! Magazine) is a weekly metal show with new shows every Sunday. It focuses on interviews, reviews and a healthy dash of humor. All episodes are available for free on iTunes as well.

GOD FORBID will take a break from writing material for their next studio album to play an exclusive one-off headline gig at Dingbatz in Clifton, New Jersey on Saturday, January 9, 2010.

Dingbatz only holds around 200 people, so to ensure entry, please buy a pre-sale ticket. You can buy tickets from the club directly, through the Dingbatz web site (pre-sale should up later tonight), or one of the opening bands. This show is 21 and up, so the youngsters will have to wait for the next all-ages show.

When asked about GOD FORBID's plans for the future, guitarist Doc Coyle recently told D-Lux Denim Brand, "We'll probably be looking for a new record label and trying to figure out what the future's really gonna hold. We don't wanna tour too much on a record that's not really supported by the record label. So, I think, [we'll] do one or two more tours, then kind of start thinking about the future."

GOD FORBID's last album, "Earthsblood", sold around 5,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan, to land at position No. 110 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD debuted at No. 2 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

GOD FORBID's previous album, "IV: Constitution of Treason", entered The Billboard 200 chart at No. 119 in September 2005 after shifting 8,300 units.

High-quality photos of EXHORDER's November 14, 2009 concert at Southport Hall in Jefferson, Louisiana can be found at Exhorder.com (all pictures taken by Shadow Angelina). The show marked the band's first live performance since EXHORDER's March 2001 reunion shows at Zeppelin's in Metairie, Louisiana.

The group's encore consisted of a medley of S.O.D.'s "March of the S.O.D.", "Sargent D and the S.O.D." and "United Forces", a cover of the punk rock classic "Somebody's Gonna Get Their Head Kicked In Tonight" (by THE REZILLOS) and "Ripping Flesh" from EXHORDER's 1986 "Get Rude" demo — a song they hadn't played since 1989.

EXHORDER's lineup for the Southport Hall date was as follows:

Kyle Thomas - Vocals
Vinnie Labella - Guitar
Jay Ceravolo - Guitar
Chris Nail - Drums
Frankie Sparcello - Bass

EXHORDER is cited by many as the originators of the riff-heavy power-groove approach popularized by PANTERA (photo).
