GOD FORBID Embark On Headlining Run, Prepare For Six Months Of Nonstop Touring

March 31, 2004

The New Jersey-based quintet GOD FORBID will embark on their second headlining tour in support of their latest release, "Gone Forever", next month. Support on this two-week run, lasting from April 6 through April 21, will come from ALL THAT REMAINS, SCARS OF TOMORROW and TRIVIUM. Preceding the tour, GOD FORBID will join an all star cast comprised of ALL THAT REMAINS, BURNT BY THE SUN and SHADOWS FALL for three east coast dates. The group will also perform at the renowned New England Metal and Hardcore festival on April 30 and shoot a new video for "Antihero" with acclaimed director Dale Resteghini (FEAR FACTORY, HATEBREED) this spring.

Commented guitarist Doc Coyle: "We just finished our headlining run with WALLS OF JERICHO, BLOOD HAS BEEN SHED, FULL BLOWN CHAOS, A LIFE ONCE LOST and NORA, followed by a week with CHIMAIRA. I'd just like to thank everyone in all the bands and crews mentioned for such a fun and productive time on the road. There wasn't one bad show, and everybody kicked ass from top to bottom! I would also like to thank everyone who bought a copy of our new album, 'Gone Forever', these first few weeks. You helped us crack the Billboard Independent and Heatseekers charts. Keep spreading the word! Also, we will be doing a two week mini tour down south with some great new bands: SCARS OF TOMORROW (disgustingly heavy Orange County band on Victory making a lot of noise with their new release),ALL THAT REMAINS (New England metalcore masters on Prosthetic featuring Phil Labonte on Vox),and TRIVIUM (Florida phenoms with a really big future). Everyone check out the new records for all of these groups. Good stuff!

"GOD FORBID will soon embark on the 'Weapons of Mass Destruction Tour' featuring the legendary MACHINE HEAD and the mighty ARCH ENEMY in late April. I have to say this tour is really a dream come true for all of us. MACHINE HEAD has been a huge inspiration for us since way back, and with their return to form on 'Through the Ashes of Empires' I think everyone in the U.S. is going to be eagerly awaiting their return. Although we did a couple weeks with ARCH ENEMY back in 2002, being able to do a full tour with such an amazing band and good people will be an honor. As a fan of metal, I think this is the best tour lineup of the spring, so everyone make sure not to miss out on this stellar package. FYI, we will not be featured on the New York and Philadelphia dates because of prior engagements on the Jager tour.

"The New Wave of American Heavy Metal is here! I'm sure everyone is getting sick of hearing that. Guess what our European tour with KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, CHIMAIRA, and SHADOWS FALL is called. The NWOAHM tour will hit the UK and some Euro fests in June. This amazing bill is not far off from last year's Headbanger's Ball tour, which definitely a good thing. Hanging with great friends, and even better bands in Europe will be something to remember. GOD FORBID hasn't toured overseas since 2001, so we are chomping at the bit to get back with such a monumental group of contemporaries. The UK has treated us well in the past, and I expect nothing but the best upon our return. We'll be seeing you soon. Cheers."
