GOD FORBID Embark On First Headlining U.S. Tour; Begin Writing New Album

February 2, 2005

New Jersey thrash titans GOD FORBID will enter the studio in May to begin recording their highly anticipated new album, "IV: Constitution Of Treason". The recording and mixing sessions will be overseen by Jason Suecof (TRIVIUM) at Audiohammer Studios in Florida and Eric Rachel (ATREYU, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN) at Trax East in New Jersey. The album is tentatively set for a fall 2005 release.

This March, GOD FORBID will begin their final round of touring in support of their critically acclaimed and highly successful "Gone Forever" album. The band will first serve as direct support to SOULFLY for a string of East Coast dates, followed by a headlining stint in the U.K. This will lead immediately into their first U.S. headlining tour, which also features CALIBAN, IT DIES TODAY and FULL BLOWN CHAOS. The four-week trek, which runs through April, includes a stop at the esteemed New England Metal and Hardcore Festival.

Commented Doc Coyle (guitars, vocals): "We are about halfway through composing our next metal masterpiece, 'IV: Constitution of Treason', and I have to say that the writing is going amazing. It's shaping up to be some of the best material we've ever written. Something feels really special about this entire process.

"It's hard to say what it sounds like so far because I don't think you really know what your record is going to be until it's completely done, and we're far from that. It's definitely a bit more rockin' and even more epic-sounding than anything we've done. All the dual leads and heavy grooves are intact, but it's got a new feel to it, and I'm sure we will surprise people again. We refuse to repeat ourselves and become a formulaic band.

"Between writing and recording, we will actually squeeze in seven weeks of touring including a 10-day run with SOULFLY, a U.K headline tour and a U.S. headline tour. GOD FORBID has never played with SOULFLY or SEPULTURA, and we are extremely excited to play with such a legend as Max Cavalera. He has obviously been a huge influence. The headlining tour in April is going to be amazing as well. This is a sick line-up with our good friends FULL BLOWN CHAOS, German metalcore giants CALIBAN (who we just toured Europe with and are doing their first U.S. tour in almost a year) and Trustkill Records breakout band of 2005, IT DIES TODAY. We're so excited to play a long set that covers both the old and new material that everyone's been asking for. So bring your dancing shoes and get your tickets before these shows start selling out!"
