GOD DETHRONED Complete Work On 'Into The Lungs Of Hell'

December 14, 2002

Dutch death metallers GOD DETHRONED have completed work on their new album, "Into the Lungs of Hell", at Berno studios in Malmö, Sweden with producer Henrik Larsson (AMON AMARTH). The album features eight songs with a total running time of 38 minutes.

According to an official press release, the songs this time have a more "realistic" view on the world instead of the "stories" the band came up with on the previous albums. Liner notes will be included to explain the lyrics and help avoid possible misunderstandings.

"Sometimes it was just necessary, because, for example, the song 'Slaughtering the Faithful' is dealing with the bio-industry and the way we treat animals," mainman Henri Sattler explained. "It was pretty shocking to read my own lyrics again just after I wrote it. We decided to explain some things here and there to avoid misunderstandings because people would think we were singing about concentration camps and shit like that."

The complete track listing for "Into the Lungs of Hell" is as follows:

01. Into The Lungs Of Hell
02. The Warcult
03. Enemy Of The State
04. Soulsweeper
05. Slaughtering The Faithful
06. Subliminal
07. The Tombstone
08. Gods Of Terror

The first pressing of the new album will be a limited-edition version, featuring a bonus CD. Included on the bonus CD will be live recordings from GOD DETHRONED's show in Los Angeles, video clips for "Villa Vampiria" and "Under the Golden Wings of Death", plus several previously-unreleased tracks, such as a re-recorded version of the song "God Dethroned" and a cover version of POSSESSED's "Satan's Curse".
