GIGANTOUR: Sales Update

The Gigantour summer festival trek — featuring co-headliners MEGADETH and DREAM THEATER alongside a host of support acts — kicked off July 21 in Fresno, California. The following Nielsen SoundScan sales figures (as of August 3, 2005) for the bands participating in the tour have been rounded to the nearest thousand:

MEGADETH:

"Greatest Hits: Back to the Start" - 52,000 (+23,650 since July 13)
"The System Has Failed" - 162,000 (+1,739 since July 13)
"Countdown to Extinction" - 2,263,000 (+1,431 since July 13)

DREAM THEATER:

"Octavarium" - 56,000 (+8,160 since July 13)
"Train of Thought" - 125,000 (+803 since July 13)
"Images & Words" - 604,000 (+594 since July 13)

FEAR FACTORY:

"Archetype" - 128,000 (+942 since July 13)
"Obsolete" - 459,000 (+921 since July 13)

THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN:

"Miss Machine" - 68,000 (+822 since July 13)
"Calculating Infinity" - 69,000 (+345 since July 13)

NEVERMORE:

"This Godless Endeavor" - 5,000 (NEW!)
"Enemies of Reality" - 24,000 (+555 since July 13)
"Dead Heart In A Dead World" - 30,000 (+174 since July 13)

LIFE OF AGONY:

"Broken Valley" - 19,000 (+3,720 since July 13)
"River Runs Red" - 158,000 (+153 since July 13)

SYMPHONY X:

"The Odyssey" - 24,000 (+578 since July 13)
"V: The New Mythology Suite" - 19,000 (+152 since July 13)

DRY KILL LOGIC:

"Dead and Dreaming" - 24,000 (+570 since July 13)
"The Darker Side of Nonsense" - 60,000 (+131 since July 13)

BOBAFLEX - "Primitive Epic" - 4,000 (+48 since July 13)

NOTE: MEGADETH, DREAM THEATER, FEAR FACTORY, and NEVERMORE played 10 Gigantour shows between July 21 and August 2. SYMPHONY X, DRY KILL LOGIC, and BOBAFLEX played eight Gigantour shows between July 21 and August 2. LIFE OF AGONY played seven shows between July 21 and August 2. THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN has yet to make a Gigantour appearance.
