FREDIABLO Officially Quits GRIMFIST

August 10, 2006

GRIMFIST vocalist Frediablo (GORELORD, ex-NECROPHAGIA) has released the following statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:

"So it has come to this. I have officially quit GRIMFIST. The motivation and drive I once possessed is dead... for now. I am stepping down allowing a hungrier man to fill my shoes, and hopefully improve the band's quality.... musically and socially. This means that I will not be performing at this years Hole In The Sky festival, or on the Eternal Anger tour.

"I am generally tired of doing music right now, and will spend my time doing graphic design via my companies Beyond The Dark and DeMida Design. To some level I'm burnt. Too much too fast. Too many bands and projects and not enough time, and now it has all just caught up with me. I'm not saying I'm quitting music altogether. I will always have that creative musical part of me inside. That shit never dies. I will continue to record and release stuff with GORELORD and HEMNUR, but those two are studio projects only, and I call all the shots. They are more 'me getting my musical ideas out of my system' kind of thing.

"Anyway, to clear everything up once and for all... I have not turned religious. I will not quit drinking. I will never stop listening to heavy music. I am the same fucking person I've always been, except for the lack of passion to play live and be in a band. I just wanna focus my time on something else than music, and my heart is in design just now.

"To exit properly, I just wanna finish this by thanking all the people, fans and friends that has stood by me throughout thick and thin. A very special thanks and many beer-stinking hails goes out to Ole, Chris and Horgh. We had a good run together. Hopefully your time without me in the band will better than ever. I wish you all the best my friends. Keep delivering that pure fucking brutality!"
