Former THE ESOTERIC Drummer Joins WES BORLAND's BLACK LIGHT BURNS

February 2, 2007

Drummer Marshall Kilpatric (ex-THE ESOTERIC, TODAY IS THE DAY) has officially joined BLACK LIGHT BURNS. Fronted by Wes Borland (ex-LIMP BIZKIT, BIG DUMB FACE, FROM FIRST TO LAST),the group also consists of Danny Lohner (ex-NINE INCH NAILS, A PERFECT CIRCLE),and Nick Annis (OPEN HAND),with other members yet to be announced. Kilpatric is replacing session vet Josh Freese, who recorded drum tracks for the upcoming record, titled "Cruel Melody", due sometime in May. Kilpatric explained in a posting on his MySpace page, "I have recently left THE ESOTERIC to further pursue my professional music career. It was a very difficult decision, and only after much deliberation did I arrive at what I considered to be the best and wisest of choices for me to make." In a separate posting, Kilpatric stated, "I am very excited and eager to begin a new chapter amongst artists who I consider innately talented and highly accomplished. I feel as though I finally have found a group comprised of artisans in a dying age where integrity, initiative, and risk are taken for granted and traded for instant gratification and comfort. I cannot wait for everyone to hear, see, and experience what is in store with us. "

BLACK LIGHT BURNS is currently rehearsing for a summer tour. More information is available at this location.
