Former THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN Drummer Launches RETURN TO EARTH

October 27, 2007

Emerging modern rock band RETURN TO EARTH, featuring ex-THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN and current COHEED AND CAMBRIA drummer Chris Pennie, will release its debut album, "Captains of Industry", on December 4 via Bald Freak Music.

"I'm thrilled to be working with Chris in both a musical and official capacity," said Bald Freak Music's Director of A&R Ron Scalzo, who is also the lead singer for RETURN TO EARTH. "We look forward to putting this out to the masses, and hopefully more albums to follow."

"Captains of Industry" was mixed and mastered by GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal and will be distributed nationally to in-store retailers and online music vendors such as Amazon.com, CD Baby and iTunes.

RETURN TO EARTH is Pennie's first official side project after taking the reins behind the drums for COHEED AND CAMBRIA earlier this year.

Guitarist Brett Aveni fills out RETURN TO EARTH's three-piece lineup.

Drawing from the pantheon of influential acts like MUSE, NINE INCH NAILS, FOO FIGHTERS and QUEEN, RETURN TO EARTH creates hard rock music comprised of rich and dynamic vocal harmonies, catchy guitar hooks, and a back beat provided by Pennie's groundbreaking drum style.
