Former NINE INCH NAILS Keyboardist To Embark On Canadian Solo Tour

January 18, 2009

Former NINE INCH NAILS keyboardist Alessandro Cortini will embark on his first solo tour under the name BLINDOLDFREAK throughout Canada starting on January 31. With this project, Cortini takes the listeners into a very unique realm of sound exploration. BLINDOLDFREAK is a voyage through sound in its purest form. In his own words, "It's just me and an electric music box (Buchla)." From minimalist percussive gestures to highly layered rich drones, it will carry you away for a unique and memorable auditory journey.

The event will be presented on a four-speaker surround setup for a unique and immersive sound experience. Opening acts on the tour include DEADLY APPLES, who will be performing a special stripped down set very different from their usual high-energy and distorted live shows. Also featured on the tour are RANDOM TRANSFER, KAKIHARA079, ZILON, D/A A/D and FILTER 27.

The dates are as follows:

Jan. 31 - Halifax, Nova Scotia @ The North St Church
Feb. 01 - Quebec City, Quebec, venue tbc
Feb. 02 - Ottawa, Ontario @ Avant-Garde Bar
Feb. 03 - Guelph, Ontario @ Albion Hotel
Feb. 04 - Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, venue tba
Feb. 05 - Toronto, Ontario, venue tba
