Former MOTOGRATER Vocalist Resurfaces In SOUTHERN FRONT

February 9, 2008

Former MOTOGRATER vocalist/samplist Zak Ward has resurfaced in a new Austin, Texas band called SOUTHERN FRONT. According to the group's bio, "Zak (also known as the Waz from his previous band) is from Hawaii and is the only non-Texan in the band. He was the original singer in MOTOGRATER, a band that started out as a heavy industrial act and later added more members and went towards a nu-metal style. Zak made his exit from MOTORGRATER shortly after this, and put in his place was Ivan Moody (now of FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH). He later rejoined to do a North American headlining tour and then moved on to other projects as everyone else in the band did. After relocating to Austin, he put an ad out for a new band. He was contacted, auditioned and after realizing he was a perfect fit for our sound, the lineup was finally complete after years of patiently searching. The next months were spent practicing and as everything gelled, the first demo was recorded. After playing the debut show on December 1, 2007, everything has been rolling along nicely. Many more things are in the works as we continue along and a full album or EP is in the plans for early-to-mid 2008."
