Former MONSTER MAGNET Guitarist Launches 9 CHAMBERS

April 7, 2011

According to Greg Prato of UGO.com, producer/singer/guitarist Greg Hampton (ALICE COOPER, BOOTSY COLLINS, LITA FORD),ex-MONSTER MAGNET guitarist Ed Mundell and current GOV'T MULE bassist Jorgen Carlsson have joined forces in a new band called 9 CHAMBERS. Vinny Appice (HEAVEN & HELL, DIO, BLACK SABBATH) has played drums on the recordings up to now, and there will be an array of different renowned drummers playing on the record.

Regarding the band's sound, Hampton stated, "Ed said our record collections are very similar. We're both from a certain era that's real honest music. There's like, CAPTAIN BEYOND — not a lot of guys dig that. And we were on an Armageddon kick for a while. A lot of Paul Kossoff and FREE stuff. But there's a lot of stuff with weird tunings that we've been goofing around with, like some of the stuff that Jimmy Page did, and implementing them into the intent of what we're unconsciously moving towards."

9 CHAMBERS has currently signed on with management, and is negotiating a record label deal. An official web site was also been launched featuring audio samples of four tunes.
