Former MEGADETH Guitarist JEFF YOUNG Covers JAMES GANG Classic (Video)

October 25, 2013

Following in the footsteps of Pat Benatar/Neil Giraldo and Buckingham/Nicks but with a decidedly more funky and progressive edge, the new project from former MEGADETH guitarist Jeff Young and Las Vegas-bred vocalist/dancer Sherri Klein is poised to release its very first single, "Come Closer". The track features an amazing performance by bassist James Lomenzo (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, MEGADETH, WHITE LION) and drummer Jeff Bowders (PAUL GILBERT, JUSTIN DERRICO, PUDDLE OF MUDD) on drums. "Side B" is a re-imagined rendition of THE ROLLING STONES' "Wild Horses". This epic re-rendering of a rock and roll classic also features the considerable talents of Brian Tichy (WHITESNAKE, FOREIGNER, BILLY IDOL) on drums and Ric Fierabracci (STEVIE WONDER, BILLY COBHAM, SHAKIRA) on fretless bass. The track was produced by Young and recorded and mixed at the plush new Vegas View Recording by Bobby Ferrari.

Video footage of Young and Klein performing a cover version of the JAMES GANG classic "Funk #49" with Sean McNabb (DOKKEN, QUIET RIOT) on bass and Scot Coogan (ACE FREHLEY, LYNCH MOB) on drums can be seen below.

Jeff's entire career with MEGADETH was spent recording and touring in support of the band's 1988 platinum-selling album "So Far, So Good...So What!"
