Former GUNS N' ROSES Bassist Confirms Collaboration With SLASH, MATT SORUM

July 13, 2002

Former GUNS N' ROSES bassist Duff McKagan has confirmed via his webmaster, Lori, that he has been jamming with fellow ex-Gunners Slash (guitar) and Matt Sorum (drums) in a brand new as-yet-unnamed project which is currently "trying to get a singer to work with as it did not work out with Josh Todd of BUCKCHERRY," according to www.snakepit.org. "The [trio] have absolutely no plans right now but they are having fun together, and what they are doing feels right. Duff says that if they could find the right singer and if something happens with this group, then they will go for it. But it is not in the plans! They are not expecting anything from it other than to work as musicians with friends they like to play with. For those who saw the cancellation of some of Duff's European LOADED shows as a sign he is staying home to work with this band, Duff says that is wrong. For financial reasons, they will not be doing those shows. However, LOADED will be doing European shows at the end of August/early September. They will play Spain at the end of July. That's what Slash and Duff have to say, and it comes down to a way for them to do some work along with Matt and enjoy it and see what they can make of it. It is not anyone's driving force...at least not yet!"
