Former FUEL Drummer Releases Debut Album With New Band FOSTERCHILD

February 22, 2007

Silent Majority Group (SMG) has announced a March 20 release date for the much-anticipated debut album from FOSTERCHILD, the new four-piece rock band featuring former FUEL drummer Kevin Miller. Co-produced by Brett Hestla (VIRGOS, DARK NEW DAY) and Pete Thornton (SHINEDOWN, LIMP BIZKIT),"Independence Day" features 11 songs, including its first single "Sugar Cookie". Already at #58 on the mainstream rock charts, the single is enjoying early spins at Q101 Chicago, KISW Seattle, WMMR Philadelphia, WYSP Philadelphia, WQXA Harrisburg PA, WRAT New Jersey, and major support from WZZO Allentown. "Sugar Cookie" has also been receiving a tremendous Internet response, with over 300 plays a day on the band's MySpace page, totaling nearly 60,000 plays in less than two months.

"The immediate reaction to the band has been overwhelming," says Jeffrey Hanson, founder and CEO of SMG. "Even before we kicked off the radio campaign, we were seeing hundreds of hits on the MySpace page a day. If this is any indication of what the future may hold, you can just say we're expecting big things from FOSTERCHILD."

Labeling themselves as a "down and dirty rock 'n' roll band" with blues, southern rock and even a bit of classic metal influences, FOSTERCHILD's sound is reminiscent of GUNS N' ROSES, MÖTLEY CRÜE and THE CULT. Vocalist Danny Beissel has even been compared to a late Bon Scott.

"FOSTERCHILD's music is like a shot of nostalgia for those who truly miss good old fashioned rock 'n' roll," Hanson said. "There are no frills, no complicated recording devices; it's just great songwriting with strong hooks and impressive musicianship. I think music lovers are going to gravitate toward the honesty and purity of the songs."

FOSTERCHILD was formed in 2005 by drummer Kevin Miller and guitarist Brian Quinn soon after Miller's departure from FUEL and Quinn's resignation from OCTANE. Hailing from Philadelphia, the band has enjoyed success touring up and down the East Coast, performing with such bands as THEORY OF A DEADMAN, SUGAR RAY, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY and more.
