Former DOWNTHESUN Bassist Launches THE HELL PIGS

May 18, 2004

Former DOWNTHESUN bassist/founding member Lance "Kuk" Collier has reportedly formed a new project dubbed THE HELL PIGS. Described as "southern rock-meets-hardcore with a twist," the group's debut record will be released through Kuk's own Kansas City, MO-based label Pure American Filthy Music. A temporary web site can currently be seen at www.thehellpigs.com.

With regards to the possibility of any more DOWNTHESUN recordings, Kuk has reportedly said that the band is on an extended hiatus and no further releases will be made available from the group unless the original members (Kuk, Satone, Danny Spain, Aaron Peltz, Church and Bruce Swink) reunite. "There was a real magic with the six of us and that's the only way DOWNTHESUN will ever BE again," he said. "Until then (if ever) all the DOWNTHESUN fans can get off with THE HELL PIGS... Stay true, stay real, and stay filthy!!!"
