Former ANTHRAX Frontman Announces One-Off Gig

Former ANTHRAX vocalist JOEY BELLADONNA has announced what appears to be a one-off solo gig at The Chance Theatre (web site) in Poughkeepsie, New York on Friday, June 6. Also set to perform at the show are WITHIN ANOTHER, SHADOW IMAGE, DOWNSPEED, and PROWLR.

Belladonna has spent the past few months holed up in Syracuse, New York with writing and playing partner Matt Zuber (ex-FUTURE DRIVEN) preparing tracks for BELADONNA's third full-length album, tentatively due in late 2003.

The as-yet-untitled follow-up to 1998's "Spells Of Fear" (DeRock Records), which is expected to feature Joey on vocals as well as drums, will include a musical style described by the singer as "straight ahead... I mean, I hate to use the term metal, hard rock, rock. It's hard to categorize. It's going to be heavy but not ultra-heavy or frantic and busy. It's straight up. Vocally, I still have that same vibe. I really haven't tried to change anything. I've never believed in trying to chase something that's in favor."
