Former 3RD STRIKE Singer Dead At 39

Larry Altman of The Daily Breeze reports that former 3RD STRIKE lead singer Jim Korthe died Wednesday (January 20) at his San Pedro, California home. He was 39 years old.

Korthe, who also toured with the bands PHANTASM and DIMESTORE HOODS, died of undetermined causes as he prepared to see a doctor treating him for a respiratory problem and fatigue, said his sister, Lynda Walter.

"He was under a doctor's care. He had gotten really sick around Christmas," Walter said. "They could not figure out what was wrong."

The Coroner's Office said his cause of death was deferred, pending toxicology tests.
