FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Guitarist, Singer Talk 'Wrong Side' Album In New Video Interview

August 1, 2013

The Netherlands' FaceCulture recently conducted an interview with guitarist Zoltan Bathory and vocalist Ivan Moody of Las Vegas metallers FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH. You can now watch the chat in five parts below.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's fourth studio album, "The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell Volume 1", is likely to sell between 95,000 and 105,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to industry web site Hits Daily Double. The estimate was based on one-day sales reports compiled after the record arrived in stores on July 30 via Prospect Park.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's third album, "American Capitalist", opened with 91,000 units back in October 2011 to land at position No. 3 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band's sophomore CD, "War Is The Answer", registered a first-week tally of 44,000 back in September 2009 to debut at No. 7. The CD followed up FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's 2007 debut, "The Way Of The Fist", which has sold more than 616,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

"The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell Volume 1" is the first half of a two-record set, with the second half due to arrive sometime this fall. Zoltan Bathory told The Pulse Of Radio that the idea for a two-record set surfaced after the band finished its writing sessions for the project with around 25 songs. "Generally you pick your best 12 and the rest of them become bonus tracks and this and that, or you keep it for next record, whatever," he said. "But you know, when we tried to take away songs, we realized, no, no, no, we don't want to take this one or that one. And when we went to the label, they said the same thing: 'Well, keep 11.' And so we were like, 'OK, well, here's 25, you pick it,' and they couldn't pick it either. So we were like, 'OK, now this is gonna be a double record.' That's how pretty much that happened."

The first single, "Lift Me Up", is currently the No. 1 track at Active Rock radio. The song features guest vocals from JUDAS PRIEST frontman Rob Halford.

The new CD also features guest appearances from IN THIS MOMENT singer Maria Brink, SOULFLY frontman Max Cavalera, HATEBREED vocalist Jamey Jasta and rapper Tech N9ne.
