January 31, 2011

Montreal, Quebec, Canada's Parc Jean-Drapeau might be covered in snow, but the first sounds of summer are already here. Brace yourselves, because Heavy MTL is back for a third edition and this year's festival will take the event to never-before-seen heights! evenko is thrilled to announce Heavy MTL 2011, uniting top metal and hard rock bands from around the world with their biggest fans.

With only two editions of shredding under its belts, Heavy MTL has quickly become one of the most significant and talked-about event of its kind on the continent. Building on a hugely successful sophomore year that saw over 42,500 fans crash through the gates of Parc Jean-Drapeau, 2011 will surely raise the bar, and the decibels, once more.

This year's premier metal and hard rock event will again join forces with the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival to deliver an impressive lineup of acts to fans at Parc Jean-Drapeau. See below for a list of bands that will be performing on the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival's stop at Heavy MTL on Saturday, July 23. With a wider range of talent than ever, it's guaranteed to blow your mind as well as your eardrums, a must-see show for all fans of earth-shattering music.

The remarkable success of Heavy MTL has prompted the launch of a new event, Heavy T.O., set to take place July 23-24 at Downsview Park in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

"Thanks to the incredible support of fans and the sheer momentum Heavy has gained in two short years, we felt this experience needed to be shared elsewhere in Canada," said evenko's director of concerts and events, Nick Farkas.

Set to take place on the same weekend (July 23-24) as Heavy MTL, metal and hard rock fans in the GTA will be able to get up close and personal with the amazing Heavy experience. What's more, evenko will work in collaboration with the world's largest concert promoter, Live Nation, to ensure that Heavy T.O. is a tremendous success as of its inaugural year. The event will feature two full days of programming and, along with Heavy MTL, will undoubtedly make Canada the envy of the international metal and hard rock communities.
