First-Ever 'Global Rock Summit' Announced

September 16, 2013

Renowned U.K.-based international rock festival booker and artist manager Seven Webster, owner of 7pm Management (worldwide manager of SKINDRED and booker of festivals such as Hard Rock Hell, Hammerfest and other events) has teamed up with A&R Worldwide and MUSEXPO founder and president Sat Bisla (who has worked as a rock DJ and was involved in the early support of artists such as WOLFMOTHER, RAMMSTEIN, H-BLOCKX, AIRBOURNE, THE TEMPER TRAP, MUSE and many others) to launch the first-ever Global Rock Summit (GRS) in Hollywood, California in April 2014.

The GRS is an international rock music conference aimed at bringing together all aspects of the multi-billion dollar global rock music industry in one annual, focused gathering with a view of helping to further stimulate a very buoyant but often much overlooked sector of the music industry .

With many global companies working in the rock sector regularly visiting Los Angeles to conduct commerce, the Global Rock Summit (GRS) will encourage these companies to enhance their business and creative activities around the time of the GRS, and in doing so, help draw more business opportunities to all in attendance.

The GRS will unite artists and companies from all sectors of the global rock music community including labels, publishers, digital aggregators, booking agents, festival promoters, media, merch companies, equipment manufacturers and suppliers, brands, PR companies, song pluggers, radio stations, the educational sector and all other aspects of the rock music community.

The GRS also will be inclusive of all areas of rock music, from classic rock and metal to screamo, AOR, alternative rock, black metal, progressive rock, doom, stoner, blues, punk, emo and hardcore. Seven Webster states, "If it's heavy and it rocks and you want to network, trade and expand your business opportunities, then the Global Rock Summit will be the perfect community for you to connect with the world of rock!"

The conference will run April 4-5, 2014 and will take place in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, where the first Oscars ceremony was held in 1928, amongst many other iconic music and entertainment events.

The Global Rock Summit will feature a cross section of expert panelists spanning a rich sector of the global rock industry. The event will discuss the future of the industry and look at solutions to further bolster and expand business opportunities. The conference will also discuss key topics with some of the most respected minds and figures within the rock sector, plus a number of keynotes with some of the industry's most renowned and innovative figures. The evenings will feature key artist showcases from some of the best new rock acts from across the globe.

A&R Worldwide's Sat Bisla stated: "After a meeting with Seven early last year, we discussed the idea of working on a rock music conference, as there seemed to be no central rock conference with a global vision. It also seemed obvious to us that its natural home had to be in Los Angeles due to its long and close association with rock music culture. After discussing this idea with influencers in the worldwide rock market, it was evident that there was an immediate need for a Global Rock Summit."

7pm Management's Seven Webster added: "Sat and his team are, in my mind, the best people I know at delivering the highest quality conferences in whatever area they choose to work. So for me there is no one better I could wish to work with on delivering our first Global Rock Summit. Our aim is to help stimulate business within the rock music community in a positive and united environment. We want all in attendance to leave having forged new business relationships and enjoyed constructive dialogue with each other as well as helping define a stronger community and vision for the world of rock!"

The first Global Rock Summit takes place at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles, April 4-5, 2014. Conference registration, showcase tickets and more information are now available at www.globalrocksummit.com.
