'Extreme Metal II' Guide To Thrash/Black/Death Metal Due In April

February 15, 2005

A new book, "Extreme Metal II", is due for global publication in April 2005 by Omnibus Press. The author is Joel McIver, whose best-selling 2004 opus, "Justice For All: The Truth About Metallica", was the first book to express in depth the disappointment that thousands of metal fans feel about the band's recent music. "Extreme Metal II" is the successor to 2000's "Extreme Metal", which was the first single-volume guide to the international thrash, black and death metal scenes. The new book has expanded the original's coverage to almost 400 of the world's most groundbreaking metal bands: its foreword was written specially by Mille Petrozza of KREATOR and it includes Q&As with metal luminaries such as Dave Mustaine (MEGADETH),Gene Hoglan (STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, DARK ANGEL),Max Cavalera (SOULFLY, SEPULTURA) and Andy Sneap (producer for such acts as MACHINE HEAD, NEVERMORE, ARCH ENEMY, SKINLAB and EXODUS). The book also boasts over 100 new interviews with members of the following bands:
