EXODUS, SACRED OATH Frontmen Interviewed On 'The Governor's Ball'

June 6, 2009

Vocalist Rob Dukes of the classic thrash masters EXODUS and vocalist/guitarist Rob Thorne of the reunited traditional metallers SACRED OATH were interviewed for this week's edition of "The Governor's Ball". You can download the program at this location.

A one-minute trailer for "Assorted Atrocities", the forthcoming EXODUS three-disc DVD/CD set, can be viewed below. Due late summer, the package will contain the band's July 2008 performance at Germany's Wacken Open Air festival, plus a 105-minute documentary following the band through the last five years of touring as well as about 45 minutes of bonus footage, with photo galleries and all of the group's promotional videos. The set will consist of two DVDs plus an audio CD of the Wacken performance.

EXODUS will perform its classic debut album, "Bonded By Blood", in its entirety each night of the band's Thrash Domination 2009 tour in Japan in September. Also appearing on the bill are KREATOR, TESTAMENT and HEATHEN.

British extreme metal drumming legend Nick Barker (CRADLE OF FILTH, TESTAMENT, DIMMU BORGIR, BRUJERIA, ATROCITY) filled in for EXODUS' Tom Hunting during the band's recent European tour with OVERKILL.

SACRED OATH and its parent label, Angel Thorne Music, recently came to an agreement with the WorldSound label to press and distribute not only the band's brand new self-titled album, "Sacred Oath", but the entire back catalog of SACRED OATH albums, including "Darkness Visible", "Till Death Do Us Part", and their cult classic debut, "A Crystal Vision". All four albums will be repackaged and released simultaneously on July 14 in North America and July 10 in Europe.

The critically acclaimed new album enjoyed a digital pre-release through iTunes on April 7 as Discovery Download of the Week and has remained on the Rock Homepage as an exclusive album — Band on the Rise — for five weeks since. A physical release date of May 12 (North America) and May 22 (Europe) had been issued but this has now been changed to July 14 and July 10, respectively, to accommodate the size and scope of the release.

The band's infamous debut, "A Crystal Vision" (1988),will be repackaged with the original cover art and a lyric booklet.

All four titles will be released in limited edition vinyl later in the year.

"Counting Zeros", the new video from SACRED OATH, can be viewed below.
