Ex-OZZY OSBOURNE Drummer Skips BILLY IDOL Tour To Tend To Pregnant Wife

September 25, 2002

Former OZZY OSBOURNE drummer Brian Tichy has been forced to temporarily abandon his post as the drummer for BILLY IDOL in order to spend time with his pregnant wife, who is expecting twins at the beginning of October.

"In case you don't know, my wife and I are expecting twin girls at the beginning of October," Tichy writes via his official web site. "Billy Idol is going to do an Australian tour at that same time. Unfortunately I can't go, but I have to be here for the birth of my babies. When it became apparent that I wasn't going to be able to do the tour, I recommended Joe Travers. So Joe came down, did a great job and is filling in for me. He sounds great with the band. I want to thank Joe for getting myself and the BILLY IDOL BAND out of a potential jam, and for rising to the occasion and delivering the goods. ...And this is yet another reason why Joe Travers has proven to be one of the best drummers around, bar none. And by the way, we played The Cat Club 9/21. We covered 'Moby Dick' and Joe did one of the most bad-ass drum solos I've ever witnessed. Right up there with Peart, Bonham, Bozzio and Buddy Rich."
