February 13, 2005

Former MEGADETH guitarist Marty Friedman's web site has been updated with the following information:

"Marty has begun writing music and basic pre-production for his next album — stay tuned here for progress reports and details that you can only get at this site…

"We are pleased to announce Marty's endorsement of Ovation acoustic guitars! Marty was so impressed by the guitars that he used at the Aikawa Nanase unplugged live show in Tokyo, that he decided to make Ovation his choice when it comes to acoustic guitars. Look for ads in upcoming mags with Marty and his new Ovations.

"On the electric front, Ibanez is making great progress with the Marty Friedman Model guitar. It is slated for an October 05 release. Marty is using one of the prototypes now in the studio, and taking meticulous notes for the master craftsmen at Ibanez to make sure that by the time it's done it’s the best guitar he has ever played.

"Also check out the new ads for Marty with Planet Waves in mags right now!

"The current issue of Young Guitar magazine (3/05) features a bonus DVD with 10 examples from Marty's '99 Secret Lead Guitar Phrases' DVD, along with a feature on Marty and lots of sheet music and tab.

"For those of you with no access to Young Guitar magazine, you can see a streaming preview of the DVD at http://mi.edu/.
