Ex-HATE ETERNAL Drummer DEREK RODDY Schedules Canadian Clinic

May 2, 2007

Cambridge Times reports that renowned drummer Derek Roddy (HATE ETERNAL, MALEVOLENT CREATION, NILE, DIVINE EMPIRE, AURORA BOREALIS, COUNCIL OF THE FALLEN) will hold a clinic on Thursday at the United Kingdom Club in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada.

The clinic — presented by Long and McQuade Music — begins at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.

In addition to playing with the above-mentioned bands, Roddy is an avid drummer of any style and has performed as a strictly jazz, blues and rock musician.

Some that play drums focus on speed, some on fills or solos. Roddy's motivation is to better himself, and to explore and expand the boundaries in music.

Having had an interest in music from an early age, Roddy came to first be a fan of music before heading headstrong into the world of actually becoming a musician.

While capable of playing many instruments and styles, he is now working on new projects with the band TODAY IS THE DAY. In addition, he has a retail drum business in Florida, and has clinics and seminars.
