Ex-GODLFLESH Frontman Returns With JESU: Audio Clips Posted Online

June 30, 2004

JESU, the new band featuring former GODFLESH frontman Justin Broadrick, have uploaded a couple of audio clips at the Avalanche.co.uk web site. "The two samples are from the upcoming ['Heartache'] EP and are in Real Audio format," reads a posting at the GODFLESH fan site www.godflesh.com. "Please note that the EP was recorded by Justin alone, so this has a drum machine and [in my opinion] isn't necessarily representative of what JESU will ultimately sound like. Of course some elements are the same, but these two songs were the first Justin wrote under the new moniker. In addition, he's got Ted Parsons and Dermot Dalton playing with him on the LP, which contains songs that are a bit more straightforward. The two tracks from the EP are each 20 minutes long."

JESU audio clips:

01. Heartache (Real Audio)
02. Ruined (Real Audio)

JESU's "Heartache" EP is due this summer through Dry Run Records.

As previously reported, JESU will embark on a U.K. tour with Chicago post-rock instrumental metallers PELICAN in August. Confirmed dates are as follows:

Aug. 03 – London, UK @ Underworld
Aug. 04 – Birmingham, UK @ The Custard Factory
Aug. 05 – Glasgow, UK @ King Tuts
Aug. 06 – Swansea, UK @ Face Off @ Escape
Aug. 07 – Leeds, UK @ Joseph's Well
