EVERGREY Drop Off Israel's METALIST FESTIVAL

August 25, 2004

Swedish progressive dark metallers EVERGREY have cancelled their appearance at the second annual Metalist Festival, set to be held August 26, 2004 at the Hangar 11 venue in Tel-aviv, Israel. The festival organizer, Oron Tanami of Metalist Productions, has sent the following statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET regarding EVERGREY's decision to withdraw from the event:

"EVERGREY, who were just about to to play the Metalist Festival in Israel, didnt take the flight that was scheduled for them [claiming] that they can't fly back to Sweden on the night between the 28-29 of August. However, the flights' itinerary has been sent to the band twice by fax and it even was confirmed be an e-mail. The evening before the [scheduled] flight [from Sweden], Motor.se, the management of the band, confirmed that everything [was] O.K and few hours later we realized that they didnt take the flight!

"Metalist Productions is the biggest metal productions company in Israel and having a wide experience with dozens of international artists and we have never experienced such a surprising cancellation from any band. The thousands of people you [EVERGREY] have just dissapointed are one of the most amazing crowds in the world. Thousands of people are expected to take part on this year's Metalist Festival and a cancelling band can have nothing but to lose the chance to be a part of it."

EVERGREY have yet to comment on the cancellation.
