ENTOMBED, AKERCOCKE Confirmed For U.K.'s DAMNATION FESTIVAL

June 7, 2009

Fan favorites ENTOMBED and AKERCOCKE will terrorize Damnation Festival on Saturday, October 24 at Leeds University Union after being voted the top two acts to return to U.K.'s finest metal event.

The show will mark a U.K.-exclusive date for Swedish death 'n' roll titans ENTOMBED who headlined the Terrorizer Stage at the inaugural Damnation Festival in 2005. AKERCOCKE topped the same stage in Manchester in 2006.

Festival director Gavin McInally said: "It's always a coup to land great bands but when they are the bands the fans have requested time and time again and even voted for, it's all the more satisfying to have them back.

"ENTOMBED were phenomenal in our first year and for many AKERCOCKE were the band of the day in 2006 so there's no doubt they'll be sterling additions to the fifth Damnation Festival."

The festival billing is shaping up as follows:

A STORM OF LIGHT
AKERCOCKE
ENTOMBED
EXTREME NOISE TERROR
MINSK
MISTRESS
ROTTING CHRIST
STAND-UP GUY
THERAPY?
THIS WILL DESTROY YOU
