ENGINE OF PAIN Signs With LION MUSIC

December 3, 2006

Dutch thrashers ENGINE OF PAIN, who feature in their ranks former AFTER FOREVER (1995-2000) drummer Joep Beckers, have inked a deal with Finnish record label Lion Music for the release of their new album, "I Am Your Enemy".

According to the band, Lion Music is traditionally "a home for some of the world's leading instrumental artists like Tony Mcalpine, Rusty Cooley, Mike Terrana, Chris Poland, Marcel Coenen, Randy Coven and Ritchie Kotzen but also holds some great bands like ARTENSION (with Steve DiGiorgio),SUN CAGED, MIND'S EYE and SPHERE OF SOULS, just to name a few."

ENGINE OF PAIN "will be spreading its word of pounding, melodic and aggressive thrash metal through the worldwide Lion Music distribution and advertisement channels," according to a press release. "The Lion Music label president Lars Eric Mattson and ENGINE OF PAIN are very happy with the newly baked metal joint venture. Not only because this deal means some kind of a new direction for Lion Music in words of dispersion of musical housekeeping but also for ENGINE OF PAIN in words of being part of a very fine high musical quality roster and a label with great distribution channels and ditto promotional power."

"I Am Your Enemy" is scheduled for release in January 2007.

ENGINE OF PAIN's last release was the six-song EP "Here is the Pain!", which came out in March 2004.
