ENEMY OF THE SUN Mainman Says Upcoming Show With GUS CHAMBERS Is Not A GRIP INC. 'Reunion'

ENEMY OF THE SUN, the German band featuring guitarist Waldemar Sorychta — former member of GRIP INC./DESPAIR and producer for such bands as LACUNA COIL and MOONSPELL — will play a set of GRIP INC. songs with ex-GRIP INC. singer Gus Chambers on August 16 at Zeche in Bochum, Germany. This will mark a reunion of two of the main players of this seminal thrash band which released four records between 1995 and 2004 (all featuring SLAYER drummer Dave Lombardo). Everybody who has witnessed ENEMY OF THE SUN tearing up the festivals this summer and whipping out GRIP INC. classics like "Ostracized" for good measure knows that this show will kick some serious ass! Also scheduled to appear are SHOTGUN WEDDING and POSITIVE STRIKE. The show starts at 6:45 p.m., doors open at 5:00 p.m.

Waldemar Sorychta has issued the following update regarding the upcoming concert with Gus Chambers:

"Is this a reunion? No, this is and will be a very exclusive show. No reunion. How long will the GRIP INC. set be? We are planing about 40 minutes.

"And here's the full plan to clear up all misunderstandings: ENEMY OF THE SUN will play a regular set (40 minutes), then the band will play a complete set of GRIP INC. songs with Gus Chambers for about 40 minutes, including songs from the last album 'Incorporated', for which the band did not tour. The setlist is all about classics like 'Hostage To Heaven', 'Rusty Nails', 'Ostracized', 'Pathetic Liar' and more.

"Showtimes: ENEMY OF THE SUN – 20:10; ENEMY w/Gus playing GRIP INC. – 21:00."

ENEMY OF THE SUN's new album, "Shadows", was released in North America via The End Records on January 22 with an exclusive bonus track called "Enemigo del Sol".

Says Sorychta about the band, "I call ENEMY OF THE SUN my family because in a family you have to feel comfortable. If not, it's not a good family. ENEMY is a good one. It's the way I wake up and feel the excitment about this band. It's the way I go to bed and want to stay awake because of this band. Music without limits, pure power saved in every note, deepest emotions bound in tones, burning pleasure in each single tune."
