ELVENKING Explain Singer's Departure

August 27, 2002

Italian "pagan metal" act ELVENKING have issued the following statement regarding the departure of singer Damnagoras from the group's ranks:

"I know that it is a shocking news for all of you as well as it was for us!

"The reason behind Damna's departure is unfortunately health... He's not so well, and singing is a big strain for him. After the show in Budapest we have chatted together about this and some days later he announced us that it is better for him to not sing anymore!

"We are still great friends with Damna and only a couple of days ago we rehearsed together to see if was possible for him to play the gig at Bloodstock but after this he felt so bad, so it is totally impossible for him in this period!

"It's so sad! I don't know what could happen in the future!

"We wish Damna all the best! He's a hell of a friend as well as songwriter (and you'll hear in the new album) and his voice was one of the great point in ELVENKING! Actually we are leaving for UK where we will play at Bloodstock festival: we will be joined on stage by Martin Walkyier to play some SKYCLAD tunes and see if there will be the possibility to play a couple of our songs...maybe with Jarpen and me on the vocals, just to do something! After this we will begin the new singer's quest. It won't be easy but we will return stronger than before!

"The new songs are really strong, everything is nearly finished, and we have only to find the new voice!

"If you think you can be the right one or you know some friends, e-mail us at [email protected]!"
